The 24-hour EMT Renewal Continuing Education course is a review of the skills and knowledge covered in the EMT-Basic course. 24 hours of continuing education and successful completion of practical testing every two years is required by the state to maintain EMT certification. In addition to reviewing core curriculum, the EMT Renewal course is designed to inform participants of changes in emergency care such as new equipment, current research, or issues of general concern to EMS providers.
This course is for currently certified and/or previously certified (not more than 2 years expired) EMTs who need to complete their 24 hours of EMT continuing education training. This course meets local and state requirements for California. In addition, this course applies to the National Registry for EMT-B’s. For more information on the NREMT requirements go to www.nremt.org
